Founded in 1501, Yamadera Pension has a long history as a Shukubo (lodge for monks) and widely known as an inn where Matsuo Bassho, one of the most famous poet in Edo era, stayed when visiting Yamagata. Meals are Shojin Ryori (vegetarian meals) at this inn and all the rooms are western style with or without bathroom and toilet.
An ideal place to get away from it all and refresh yourself.
